FAQs
ENDORSEMENTS
"I play soccer and basketball, which all started when I was young, growing up in the Naples recreation department. I spent my entire early life having the best time playing soccer and basketball in the recreation programs, which helped me build friendships I still have to this day. I also referee and volunteer at the recreation department to try and give the next kids who are going through this program the same amazing experience I had."
Torin, LRHS Sophmore
“My daughter’s experience at Naples Kids Adventure Camp has been transformative. She’s gained independence, tried new sports, built friendships, and grown in confidence. These programs change lives, but they need a proper space to reach their full potential. A new facility would allow more children to experience the same growth, joy, and community connection.”
Kate Riggs
“Growing up in an impoverished area, the Portland Boys & Girls Club gave me structure, safety, and community when I needed it most. It kept me away from crime and taught me independence, teamwork, and leadership. Decades later, I’m a coach, father, and business owner still carrying those lessons. Our community desperately needs a facility that can offer today’s youth the same life-changing opportunities.”
Mike Damon
“As a child who lost her father young, recreation programs gave me stability, joy, and a place to grow when my family needed it most. Today, as a mother of two in Naples, I see how vital a true community center is. These spaces are more than buildings—they are hubs of connection, wellness, and belonging. Naples deserves a facility where our families can come together, celebrate, and thrive.”
Emily Moon - Windham
“Raising three kids in Naples, I don’t know how we would have made it without the recreation and sports programs. The coaches, counselors, and volunteers poured their hearts into my children, shaping who they are today. A safe, welcoming facility isn’t just important—it’s essential. Our community needs this investment to keep families connected, supported, and proud to stay here.”
Happy Alexander (also Troy, Brody, Grace and Carver)
“I am still walking and active. I can't say enough for regular exercise and what it can do for you through the years. There is also a mental component to exercise. It brings you together with other health conscious people of varying ages and gives you that I-can-do-it feeling.”
Polly, Naples, 92 y/o
"Both of my daughters have been part of the recreation programs and have both had wonderful, amazing experiences. My youngest has built confidence, met new friends, made new memories, and tried the new sports by being part of this program. In today's world where kids are surrounded by digital distractions and face rising mental health challenges, a recreation center isn't just a want it's a need."
Nicole, Naples, Maine Health
"A recreation center here in Naples could provide the children in our community a safe and welcoming place to grow, play, and connect. Through sports, creative programs, and group activities, kids develop healthy habits, social skills, and positive coping strategies. A recreation center would be an investment in healthier, happier, and more resilient children in our community."
